Hi Hukae! How are you doing?
What’s up, I’m doing great thank you!
Take us back to the beginning, how did you found your passion into producing electronic music?
Well I have always loved dubstep and music in general for as long as I can remember, really. I was always curious about how it was made, etc. but I never thought too much on it. Then, I remember one day I was listening to some tune for the first time (I can’t remember exactly what the tune was), and heard some sounds I’d never even heard before. And from that moment on I thought “screw it, I need to try and make some stuff like this for myself!” That Christmas I got my first proper laptop and started learning how to produce in the first half of 2017!
You released your debut EP called “Future” through NSD: Black Label. Could you share the creative process behind about this EP?
The making of “Future EP” happened really naturally, actually. After my Australia tour in March I was more inspired than ever to make new, weird and innovative tunes. I smashed out so much new music. Three of the tracks were made within the first 1/2 months of lockdown, with Doozy being the only song made before, over a year ago actually! Originally it was going to be just songs I had made over lockdown, but with Doozy being one of my favourite unreleased tunes I’ve ever made, I really wanted to throw it on this EP.
What is your favorite song from the EP?
Hmmm tricky one, but I’d probably have to say Doozy. I remember being super gassed while making it knowing that people were going to enjoy it once it was done. Been sitting on it for over a year with a lot (and I mean a LOT) of people asking for a release so, it’s only right I put it on the EP!
How have you been staying productive during the quarantine period?
By making lots and lots of new music and playing video games.
Your “Killjoy” and “Dirty Talk” EP includes collaborations with JOOL and Neonix. How did you end up working with these names?
I’ve been friends with Neonix in the scene for a while, so that tune came so naturally. We just exchanged ideas and the tune just happened over time. JOOL on the other hand, I’ve not known for as long, but when they sent me music I was blown away. I really thought we could make something crazy with a blend of both our styles!
This quarantine period has been hard for music industry so now it’s time to support and support, any interesting new producers you would recommend to follow?
Yes, keep a look out for these guys: Voysol, JoeB, Welon, Banxy, 7inn, Devath, Veer, Cripplingg, BeutNoise and Master Error.
What has been your best show you have ever played?
Wow tough one, if I had to choose one it would have to be Paris. Close runner up would be Skankerz in Belgium!
