INTERVIEW WITH DR.USHῡU

on

In a scene sometimes branded as generic where diversity is hard to come by, one stands above the others with his planet-crushing bass and galactic melodies, combined in a truly mystical out of this world experience. This is the vision of Dr. Ushuu.

From the suburbs of the city of lights emerges Dr. Ushuu, a rare blend of joviality, experience and innovation. He started in 2014 under the name d.c.r, but it wasn’t until 2017 that the doctor found himself being supported by the likes of Ookay, Martin Garrix and Nicky Romero with his future bass beats. It wasn’t enough. Dr. Ushuu drifted towards the bass music universe, where he has remained since, pushing the limits of space to bold new places no one has gone before. Ivory, Samplifire, Gladez, Bandlez and more have already been abducted by the Dr. Ushuu spaceship and probed by his mesmerizing energy and filthy vibes. Prepare yourself, Dr. Ushuu is out to conquer new worlds with every release.

Hi Dr. Ushuu! How are you doing?
Hi LTBGY I’m doing good despite the current situation!

Take us back to the beginning, how did you found your passion into producing electronic music?
I found my passion from the EDM Golden Era back in 2013/2014 when Big room was the thing haha! I wanted to express myself through something and be able to tell people my story and I figured out how to do so through music production!

You released an EP called “Survivor”. Could you share the creative process behind about this EP?
My EP is made by 4 tracks that describe my personality while telling a story. I wanted to show people what I can do musically while still capturing my soul and show how I can expand my universe to the listeners!

Your “Survivor” EP include collaboration with L.M. How did you end up working with these names?
My collab with L.M is honestly one of my fav collabs I’ve ever worked on and it’s the first collaboration title as Dr. Ushuu so it’s very special! We met each other last year and we became pretty close friends, developing ourselves musically and personally.  I’m glad I’m able to have him as one of my best friends and i’m glad to work with him ❤

What is your favorite song from the EP?
It’s tough to say as they all capture a part of my essence but if I had to pick, it would be “Crying For U” as it describes how far I can expand my music style and it also describes my personality quite well.

How have you been staying productive during the quarantine period?
The real answer is I haven’t ahah. But I was able to make lots of tracks and my EP so this quarantine did end up being somewhat productive.

This quarantine period has been hard for music industry so now it’s time to support and support, any interesting new producers you would recommend to follow?
There’s so many talented artists in this industry that I apologize if I forgot any but I feel like L.M, my bros Evilnoiz, IT LIVES, Azabim, Bizo, Akuto, Aquare Perception and Penrose. Also a major shoutout to my fam Ivory for all the support he has always given me.

What Christmas Present wishes did you have this year?
One of the only things I wish for is to have my family next to me. But I wouldn’t mind a new PC or a controller ngl ahah

Would you like to share something with the followers of Let the Bass Get You?
Of Course! Stay tuned for my upcoming releases next year as I have a lot of exciting news to put out, love your family, be nice to people and keep being amazing ❤
