Dedicated and focused on breaking the barriers between multiple genres, Southern California producer Geoff Boss, aka “STUCA”, pairs intense/aggressive sounds with atmospheric pads and melodies, bringing a brilliant balance to his music that many artists are unable to achieve. Boss has put all of his efforts these past few years into creating this industrial style and energy that has laid the foundation for what STUCA is and will become.
Hi STUCA! How are you doing?
Doing alright! Been incredibly busy as of lately but that’s a good thing.
Take us back to the beginning, how did you found your passion into producing electronic music?
My passion for electronic music started with discovering Feed Me in high school. The grittiness of his sound was so unique to me. Also seeing his youtube videos introduced me to FL Studio. I had no idea that music was made in that way as I was brought up just learning instruments and stuff.
You released an two song EP called “Synergy/Airlock” through NSD. Could you share the creative process behind about this EP?
These 2 tracks are just me trying to combine a bunch of different drum movements and sound designs together into one fluid project.
What is your favorite song from the EP?
Probably Synergy. One of the toughest tracks to mix down but had some unique movement that I’d never had in any of my other tracks.
What has been the most challenging song for you to make and why?
Synergy. Mixing that main lead with the sub was an absolute nightmare.
How have you been staying productive during the quarantine period?
Making music and staying active.
This quarantine period has been hard for music industry so now it’s time to support and support, any interesting new producers you would recommend to follow?
My good friend Eugene is sitting on a bunch of really unique music, definitely check him out!
What has been your funniest or embarrassing moment to date related to music?
Funniest moment was probably all the sampling in my track “Fuck Off” with Krischvn. Putting those Gordon Ramsay samples together was quite enjoyable to say the least.
Would you like to share something with the followers of Let the Bass Get You?
All I can share is that my debut EP is out now on NSD so definitely go and stream it!
