WHIPPED CREAM IS BACK WITH “LIGHT OF MINE” WITH JIMORROW OUT ON MONSTERCAT!

Recently returning to Monstercat, Vancouver based DJ and producer WHIPPED CREAM and Jimorrow have joined forces to release what I reckon is one of the largest sing along tunes of the year to date.

Light of Mine” is a song that resonates with me fully. The meaning behind the lyrics, “this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine” is just something I think we all need to understand. We are all born with this light, it’s just a matter of time until it shines. We all have something to offer and at the right time, the light will find its way out of us and into the universe. Keep the light shining!

Marking her first original single for 2021, “Light of Mine” starts off straight away with a lighters up anthemic vocal chant over some awesome clap along building percussion. The fast repetitive nature of the chords leading into that first drop are absolutely mint with the song moving into a groovy drum & bass section in the back end. This tune exudes self-confidence and self-belief through its lyrics and has the boppy drops to go along with that message.

When Caroline first reached out to me with the idea for “Light of Mine” she told me it had potential to become a huge, empowering anthem, and I agreed. After six months of working on it, I am grateful I was able to help bring her vision to life. It has been such an enlightening experience making this record, so I’m hoping it can bring a little light to everyone that listens to it.

Jimorrow

Born in Toronto as Caroline Cecil, WHIPPED CREAM spent her formative years as a competitive figure skater before a fateful accident brought a new passion for production into focus. Off the back of playing festivals like Ultra, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and gaining support from heavyweights like Alison Wonderland, Diplo, and ZHU, the artist is living up to her mission to create “music that can be felt by anyone” – and this song definitely fits that brief! Kansas City-born Jimorrow (James Dryer) started producing music at the age of 14. His first official single, “Light of Mine” with WHIPPED CREAM, debuted on Monstercat in 2021 and we are now super keen to hear what’s next!

Seeing the footage coming from shows of this being played over the last few weeks this is another one I’m keen to experience live! Also – keep your eyes out for the upcoming animated music video of “Light of Mine”!
